This product is a one star item because…
1) It has a convoluted interface. If you need to make phone calls on the go, DO NOT buy this phone. You need at least two eyes and a few minutes to navigate the interface.
2) The screen attracts dust or something. You can clean it, wipe it, pretty much anything, and it just stays greasy.
3) The keypad is tiny. Once again, if you text message on the go, DO NOT buy this phone. You will need a microscope, stylist pen, patience, and more than a few minutes to make a simple message.
In closing, there are other annoying things about this phone; I would end up making an essay if I listed all of them. This phone was given to me to make my life easier. It just ended up being a constant frustration and has been returned. By the way, I am LOVING the simplicity of the iPhone now. Good luck if you buy this item!

I LOVE my new HTC Diamond US. The best smartphone WM device I ever had (and I have had almost all of them). I was replacing the Europe version with this one to have US 3G supported, however I don’t know what to think about AMAZON advertising that showed a photo of the phone with the front camera and the phone came without it. I DO need video calls as my operator provides the service. Any comments from Amazon ? You better change the picture

I am very disappointed with this phone. I switched from a much older (2005) Nokia 9300. I’m having the following problems which NEVER occured with the old 9300:
1) MANY Dropped calls (never with the Nokia)
2) Intermittent no data connection at home or office (never happened with the Nokia)
3) Microsoft Mail crashes twice a day minimum (no updates avaialble)
4) Touch screen hangs up and doesn’t respond for 30 second intervals
5) Cell data conflicts with WiFi data (one must be turned off for other to work)
6) very confusing interfaces that are inconsistently organized
7) intermitantly unable to send e-mails, but downloads are fine.
For my work, I need a powerful PDA that performs very well, and this one is a huge let down. I’ll be looking for another Nokia, and hoping that I can find a global service provider (ATT?) to sell a connection for a phone they wouldn’t normally support.

I lost my headset for my TMOBILE SHADOW so i decided to surf on amazon to find a replacement for the cheap headset that came with the TMOBILE SHADOW. I found this one and its much better than the stock headset that came with the SHADOW. Works perfectly during calls and for music. Worth my $7.34
(Works for DASH and SHADOW!)

I have had an iPhone, Blackberry Curve, two Blackberry Pearls, Verizon VX6800, and a Palm Treo. I’ve been around the block when it comes to “smartphones.” The HTC Touch has been a pleasent surprise. I was a little skeptical about having a PDA phone without a physical keyboard. I loved the Pearl’s text input (Suretype) and was surprise to see a virtual “suretype” style keyboard. The keypad for text input has 20 keys arranged like a QWERTY keybard with two letters to a key. There is also 5 other text inputs other than the suretype style: a small keyboard (stylus only), T9, letter recognition (like a palm treo), block recognizer, and transcriber.
The transcriber was one of the more interesting text inputs. How many times have you gotten frustrated while inputing a contacts name or something custom? Transcriber recognizes your handwritting (both cursive, print, or a combination of both).
The HTC touch is highly customizable since it runs on Windows Mobile 6. I have rather new to WM6, but am thus surprised on how fast and stable it has been.
The HTC touch is a great PDA style phone. The “Touch Flow” is a great addition to an already well balanced phone. So if you’ve read my other phone reviews, I’ll list the pros and cons:
Pros:
-Stable operating system
-Customizable
-Loud speaker phone
-Loud ear volume
-Good vibrate
-Touch flow
-Variable data/text entry (6 different ways)
-Bright and vivid display
-Touch screen is sensitive and responsive
-Rubberized shell
-2.0 MP camera
Cons:
-Quiet custom MP3 ringtones
-Terrible alarm clock
-HTC Home Weather app is limited to major cities only
-Cheap stylus (my first broke within a few days…a little superglue fixed that problem)
-Must have data package (see notes below)
Now to finish up, the only problem with having a PDA phone affording a data package. If the phone is purchased under a new contract or upgrade (so you take the phone at a discount), you will have to either have a “Smart Choice” plan (via Alltel) or pay 45 bucks a month for unlimited data and e-mail. Seems a little high since the phone doesn’t require data to function. Now, if the phone is purchased at full-retail price, you are not obligated to pay for a data package. If this is the case, data is charged by the minute, not the KB. For only 10 bucks a month, you will have unlimited data through Alltel. Not too shabby.
